The Reverend Robert Chavner was appointed Parish Priest in 2006 and is a professed member of the Third Order of the Society of St Francis.Before ordination he was a professional singer and despite a busy schedule as a priest still finds time to perform.

Assistant Curate
The Reverend Betsy Gray Hammond was ordained in June 2010. Betsy trained for ministry at Ripon College, Cuddesdon.
Hon. Assistant Clergy
The Reverend Robin Protheroe, with his wife Elizabeth moved to Brighton in 2009 after 25 years in the Diocese of Bristol. Before retirement Fr Robin was Diocesan Director of Education.
The Reverend Robert Easton is Chaplain to Brighton College
Church Wardens
Josephine Baker was born in the parish, although she now lives on the outskirts of Brighton. She has two sons and one daughter-in-law. Several sets of her ancestors were baptised and married in St Nicholas’ Church and she feels a great affinity for it. Apart from enjoying her role within the church as Churchwarden, Jo is also a part-time legal secretary.

Organist and Choir Leader
Dominic Desouza was appointed Organist and Choir Leader in 2011. He comes to St. Nicholas with more than 20 years experience of choral direction and accompaniment. He is a strong promoter of the Kodaly Concept of musical education originally used with children, but equally usable with adults. Dominic maintains his interest in academic music and he regularly works as a recitalist. He also plays the Saxophone (Soprano, Alto, & Tenor) and Flute.

Assistant Choir Leader and Junior Choir Leader
Cara Barseghian is an experienced Singer and Teacher and was appointed to the staff of St. Nicholas in 2011. Cara has particular responsibility for the junior choir. Cara is the proprietor of 'Fiddlesticks Music', providing pre-school music groups within Nurseries in the City of Brighton and Hove.

Lynn Rashid started as our part time administrator in August 2008.
