St Nicholas' PCC
St Nicholas' Parochial Church Council has the responsibility of co-operating with the Incumbent in promoting in the parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical.
The PCC operates through a number of sub-committees which meet between full meetings of the Council. St. Nicholas' has several of these and their tasks are listed below.
Standing Committee: this is the only committee required by law. It has power to transact the business of the PCC between its meetings, subject to any directions given by the Council.
Finance: oversees the general financial dimension of St Nicholas' by monitoring income, expenditure and budgeting.
Stewardship: encourages ways of ensuring that the congregation gives committedly in terms of money, time and abilities to further the church's work.
Social: arranges social activities for the congregation, newcomers and the wider community.
Fabric: monitors the physical condition of St Nicholas' church and it's associated property and oversees any necessary building works.
Home and Overseas Giving: suggests causes and charities that maybe supported by the church in its monthly special offerings and at other times.
Communications: co-ordinates and publishes Church activities to the wider audience; is responsible for the Parish Newsletter a quarterly publication which is free to all.
Bookings: co-ordinates and oversees church bookings to hirers of St Nicholas' Church for events held in the church;
