At St Nicholas’ Parish Church we are anxious to extend our Christian Welcome to all people irrespective of their disabilities. We are always seeking to improve arrangements for anyone with disabilities in order that no one should feel unwelcome, excluded or unable to participate in the Church activities.

The Church can already provide the following:

• hearing loop system

• large print service sheets

• wheelchair access

• help with mobility or wheelchair (on request)

• toilet facilities

Finally, we assure you that we are doing all we can to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. No reasonable requests for assistance will be refused and you can be assured that we shall do all that we can so that each one of us can enjoy a Christian welcome at St Nicholas’.

Our Church and Community Room provide quality accommodation for events such as weddings, parties and small meetings.

The Church provides high quality heated accommodation accessed via double doors from an entrance hall and ramp. The church can accommodate approximately 150 persons standing or approximately 100 sitting at tables for meals, quizzes, or similar activities. A hearing loop system and grand piano is available for Hirer's use.

The Community Room - provides a comfortable room which is heated and is eminently suitable for small meetings of up to 15/20 persons.

• All hirers have access to the small kitchen, which is available for serving food. The use of crockery and table cutlery is included in the hire charge.

• A phone is situated in the church for emergency use

• The toilet facilities include a toilet for the disabled.

• The entrance ramp is designed for wheelchair access,

• On street parking is available but very limited, and the NCP car park in Church Street is available daily and is situated close to the church

• Hirers are asked to respect the needs of local residents when parking near the church.

Please note: Cars must NOT be parked in the driveway to the church except for loading and unloading.

The Church and Community Room are available for hire on weekdays up to 11.00 p.m. and on Sundays between 2.00pm and 6.00pm.

There is no objection to hirers serving wine or other drinks but licenses must be obtained if alcoholic drinks are to be sold.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the church premises.
